A Guide to E-Liquids

What Is An E-Liquid?

E-liquid is the fluid used in electronic cigarettes. E-liquid is mainly made up of either Vegetable Glycerine or a Propylene Glycol base (used in food products, asthma products, disco fog machines), nicotine, and flavourings. E-liquid can be purchased in hundreds of flavours and several nicotine strengths for you to top-up your ecig and control your nicotine intake.

Are E-Liquids Safe?

All our e-liquid is tested and certificated by European MSGS,CE and RoHS Certification. We use only pharmaceutical grade PG (Propylene Glycol). E-liquids are supplied in child proof bottles, shrink wrapped, CHIP compliant and marked with production and expiry dates. Produced in co-operation with Hangsen.

What Is An E-Liquid Made From?

E-liquid is the fluid that is vapourised using your e-cigarette. It contains a mixture of Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerine and nicotine, as well as flavouring. We offer a wide variety of flavours to suit every taste, from our tobacco range right through to fruits and our drinks flavours such as cola or lemonade. E-liquid is available in a range of strengths so you can select which is right for you.

What is Propylene Glycol (PG) and how does it affect the throat hit?

Many smokers who switch back to traditional cigarettes do so because they say they miss the ‘throat hit’. This can be defined as the satisfying feeling that you get in the back of your throat and your lungs when you inhale smoke. Hangsen E Liquid vapour contains top quality propylene glycol to ensure a satisfactory throat hit. PG is a tasteless, odourless compound that occurs naturally. It’s a low density liquid that evaporates quickly to ensure a stronger throat hit, similar to that offered by tobacco cigarettes but without the associated toxic compounds and tars released by tobacco

Pros:

•Thinner than VG and so works better with many clearomisers and e-cigarette tanks

•Holds the flavourings better and many find PG to have more flavour

•Stronger throat hit

Cons:

•As it is thinner it can leak more easily

•Breaks down into Lactic Acid, similar to the effect of exercise which can lead to muscle cramps and tiredness

•Does not produce as much vapour as VG

What are the benefits of Vegetable Glycerine (VG) and how does it work?

Vegetable Glycerine is a great addition to E Liquids as it produces more vapour. Some E Liquids are entirely based on VG, but by combining slightly thicker VG with less dense, more fast acting propylene glycol, Hangsen E Liquids offer the best of both worlds: a powerful throat hit and plentiful, long lasting vapour to extend that hit and deliver flavour. Both PG and VG are non toxic organic compounds and generally considered safe for consumption: in fact, they are widely used as food additives in a variety of products.

Pros:

•More vapour produced

•Smoother feel in the throat

•Less likely to leak

Cons:

•Less throat hit

•Some tanks and wicked clearomisers cannot cope with the thickness

•Can hold less flavour

•Some people find it affects their lung capacity and creates shortness of breath at higher %
